You’ll be emailed a verification code – enter it here and click NEXT. It has to be a real email address because you will need to verify it. Enter the email address that you want to be associated with the account and click NEXT. If you don’t have an account yet, click the CREATE ONE link. If you have a Microsoft account, enter your login details here. Whether you currently have a Microsoft account yet or not, click the SIGN IN button. (This won’t download anything, but instead will redirect you to the Office page.) Click on the DOWNLOAD button on the sidebar to visit the Office website. Password or encrypted workbooks will not open in a browser, however, if just a worksheet is protected, it can be viewed online. If multiple people are logged into a workbook, the redo and undo features will not work. Legacy macro features will not be displayed in the web browser. If the workbook uses a font that you don’t have on your computer, a different font will be substituted. Not all fonts will display in the same way. While you can edit workbooks that have data validation, it can’t be set up in the browser. After the download is complete, double click on the file, and Excel, along with all the Microsoft365 apps, will automatically install on your computer.Īlthough most features are the same, these differences can occur if you upload a workbook and view it in the browser. The final step is to press the Install Office button, and the exe file will automatically download to your computer. Click the Download Desktop Apps button, and a new tab will open directly to your new Microsoft dashboard. Once the confirmation is complete, press the Continue button. Microsoft requires that you enter payment details, even though you won’t be charged until the completion of your 30-day free trial. Creating an account is free, and all you need is a valid email address and a password. 
If this is the case, click on the Create Account link and register a new account using a different email address, and you’ll be able to proceed.
